NEWS JUST IN: Five suspects hold up a mother and her daughters in armed robbery

LONEHILL – Five armed men held up a woman and her two daughters during a home invasion on 21 July.

The incident was confirmed by Douglasdale Community Policing Forum chairperson, Jean Berdou, who also stated that police are looking for the suspects who fled in a silver Mercedes with items stolen from the home.

“We suspect that they were targeted and most likely followed to their home by the suspects,” stated Berdou. “They were accosted but fortunately, no one was injured during the ordeal.”

He added that Fidelity Security guards reacted quickly and were on scene within minutes. “The family is currently receiving full response from the forum, trauma councillors and detectives on scene. They are safe, but they are severely shaken.”

Douglasdale police detectives have opened a case of armed robbery and are investigating at present.
