Fair deal for swimming star
DAINFERN - Dainfern College can be proud after Grade 8 pupil, Kelly Fairon, placed first and second, and posted eight personal best times in various strokes in the 2015 Youth Swimming Tour in Italy.
The young sports star placed first in the 200m and 100m breaststroke, and second in the 200m individual medley at the Fédération Internationale de Natation (Fina), also known as International Swimming Federation.
The trip was a great chance for Fairon to meet some of South Africa’s top swimming coaches and swimmers such as Chad le Clos.
Fairon managed to earn many Fina points thanks to her results in Italy. The points are a main criteria for selection to the South African national team.
