Junior College has made it their mission to undertake a campaign to make the school environmentally friendly.
Their healthy sprouting carrot and spinach garden is the first of many initiatives lined up to transform the school.
Tabitha Carins, principal of Junior College, emphasised the love that her pupils have for the environment. “The children at Junior College… love nearly anything pertaining to the great outdoors that includes digging in the dirt, creating yummy treats and climbing trees.”
Central to the effectiveness of the garden is the choice of vegetables, with an emphasis on easy-to-grow plants. The children’s focus keeps them captivated and involved throughout the process of growing the plants within the garden.
“The Junior Colleges little ones are curious by nature, and there is no greater joy than that from a child who has cultivated plants from his or her own vegetable garden.”
