DA Midrand commemorates Youth Day in Kanana

KANANA - The Democratic Alliance (DA) constituency chairperson for Midrand, councillor Annette Deppe, together with DA Shadow Minister of Human Settlements, Makashule Ghana, and DA Youth representative, Lerato Mphefo, spent Youth Day in Kanana, Rabie Ridge.

Councillor Deppe said, “The DA representatives spent 16 June with the community of Kanana’s youth, focusing on the positivity of the youth and the major role they have to play in our country’s future.”

Deppe added that young people had the chance to engage with the party’s leaders on issues affecting young people.

Ghana was the guest speaker and delivered a message focusing on the difference between 16 June and the Class of 2015. The minister spoke about how far the country has come and how much more there is to be done to support the youth today and in the future.

Deppe stated, “The success of the country’s future is in the hands of our youth and we need to truly honour those who died for our freedom 39 years ago. We need to continue their fight for opportunities for all by supporting our youth and enabling them to receive a quality education.”

Kanana Drum Majorettes and Kids with Rhythm provided entertainment on the day.
