Motor-head mayhem at Clarkson, Hammond and May Live

JOBURG - It was a night not to be forgotten by motoring fanatics with the hilarious hosts performing some of their own stunts and serving the crowd with a motor show for the ages.

The highly-anticipated Clarkson, Hammond and May Live motor show opened on 12 June at the TicketPro Dome in Randburg.

Fans were excited to see the three motor show hosts in action, and they did not disappoint their adoring fans with their outrageous antics.

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May brought a number of public personalities to guest star in the show, including South African Sevens Rugby player, Werner Kok, and American Gymkhana pioneer and owner of the unbelievable Mustang Hoonicorn, Ken Block.

The show featured some of the most exciting and insane daredevil stunt driving, with a number of motocross bikers attempting death-defying air jumps in the arena.

The three hosts engaged in a number of competitions with the Hoonicorn driver. Block was challenged by the hosts in a medieval-style chariot race, not with a horse-drawn carriage, but rather a four-bike drawn carriage – a race which was obviously won by the stunt-driving American.

The second challenge extended to the American was a drifting race around a course created within the arena against the three British hosts.

The hosts kept things exciting, despite falling far behind the American and his Hoonicorn, by turning the lights off in the arena, blaming it on load shedding and feigning a win.

Kok’s challenge was an even more exciting one, with the rugby player on foot, racing May in a Nissan GTR in a 100m dash. Kok won the challenge.

It was an exciting show for those who attended, with an additional motoring exhibition taking place before and after the show.
