Alleged attempted hijacking in Paulshof

PAULSHOF - An attempted hijacking allegedly took place on Capricorn Road in Paulshof on the morning of 14 June.

The security of a complex in the area said suspects had attempted to hijack a vehicle on Capricorn Road but failed. The suspects then fled into the thicket near the spruit.

A local security company and the police K9 unit are believed to have responded to the scene.

Four suspects were reportedly involved in the attempted hijacking and two of the suspects were allegedly shot, while two managed to get away.

Residents are urged to be on the lookout for a dark blue VW Polo Classic with the registration ‘WHN261 GP’

Provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Lungelo Dlamini has been contacted for comment however he said he was still gathering details on the incident and could not yet make a comment.
