Shootout in Norscot, suspects arrested

NORSCOT – The swift reaction by police resulted in an arrest right after a house robbery in Norscot shortly before 4am on 10 June.

 

According to Warrant Officer Balan Muthan of Douglasdale Police Station, the victims were tied up and locked in a bedroom while four suspects allegedly ransacked the house before escaping in a red Nissan Sentra.

“One of the victims then managed to untie themselves and contacted our station, alerting us about the car and the whereabouts of the suspects,” said Muthan.

“The sector vehicle was immediately dispatched and en route to the Norscot home, drove past a red Nissan Sentra and followed in pursuit.”

As the sector vehicle approached them, a shootout occurred.

Two suspects managed to flee the scene, but two others were arrested and all of the stolen items recovered.

Muthan confirmed that no one was injured.
