Pupil wins Miss Teen World

SANDTON - Crawford College Sandton pupil Katlego Ncala (15) comes back with the Miss Teen World title after participating in the pageant in Turkey.

Ncala from Fourways was Miss Teen Africa 2014 and competed in Turkey on 5 May against other contestants from 25 countries around the world.

She also managed to win the overall Best Talent title for her performance of the South African Kwela dance. Ncala won The Photo Model of the Globe title at the competition. This title will give Ncala an opportunity to appear in various European magazines in her year of reign.

Ncala said she was very excited to have won the title as it will assist her in opening up many doors for the numerous projects that she wishes to embark on. “The title will help me become the voice of those who are voiceless,” she added.

Ncala also said the experience in Turkey was amazing and that she learned a lot about the different cultures of the world. “Communication was a challenge, because of the different languages but everyone got along extremely well,” she explained.

Ncala then said the highlight of the gift exchange ceremony for her was when she received a Russian doll and many other artefacts from different countries.

Ncala vowed to continue to proudly fly the South African flag high during her reign as Miss Teen World.
