Three women burnt while cooking at a Fourways school

FOURWAYS – THREE women were treated for burn wounds at a Fourways school from a gas cooker they were using.

Spokesperson for ER24, Russel Meiring, said paramedics from their Joburg North branch arrived at the school to find three women sitting in a first aid room, being treated by first-aiders.

“On assessment, paramedics discovered that two of the women had sustained moderate burn injuries to their faces and arms, while the third sustained minor injuries to her hands,” said Meiring.

“Paramedics took over treatment of the patients and provided them with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, all three patients were transported to a nearby hospital for further observation.”

Fire authorities were on scene for further investigations.
