William Nicol Drive is a road accident hotspot

FOURWAYS - William Nicol Drive was the scene of two accidents on the afternoon and evening of 28 April.

According to Emer-G-Med paramedics, on the afternoon of 28 April they assisted a provincial ambulance at the corner of William Nicol Drive and Leslie Avenue after a pedestrian was hit by a passing vehicle.

The pedestrian was reportedly running away from his work colleagues when he was hit. According to Emer-G-Med, the pedestrian had allegedly been withholding his work colleagues’ wages at the time. The pedestrian sustained moderate injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment.

Later that evening, William Nicol Drive was again the scene of an accident when one taxi rear-ended another taxi underneath the Witkoppen bridge.

Emer-G-Med paramedics said six people were injured in the collision. The injured parties sustained minor to moderate injuries and most were taken to hospital for further treatment.
