Domestics to learn ramifications of stealing

SUN VALLEY - The Make a Difference campaign's Domestic Watch programme is hosting its April meeting on the ramifications of stealing for the Sun Valley community.

The meeting will be held at La Fiorentina Restaurant, on the corner of Bridle Pass and Champion roads in Sun Valley on 23 April at 11am.

Penny Steyn of the campaign explained the topic was stolen goods and that she would explain to the attendees that there were “hectic” ramifications on shop lifting.

The lessons would also advise on finding stolen goods, reporting on stolen goods, keeping records, how the police can trace goods with serial numbers anywhere in the country if reported and found at any stage as long as there is a serial number, but not reporting is a huge problem.

The lesson would also help the community members to spot the error when their children or partners suddenly have possessions that they could not normally could afford. Steyn said, “What happens if you take a tea bag without permission, it can lead to taking bigger and lead to much worse crimes. Buying stolen goods, well that is an incentive for more criminal activity isn’t it?”
