Offering incentives for good business

FOURWAYS - The Department of Trade and Industry hosted a conference at the Indaba Hotel to receive feedback from businesses which have benefited from the department's many incentives.

At the event, business-owners heard testimonials from Unilever, Thembi Wines, Nestle and Samsung about the benefits they had received from the department’s incentives.

The department’s Maleba Mabitje-Thompson outlined the different incentives the department offered such as the automotive investment scheme and the clothing and textile competitiveness improvement programme. The aquaculture development enhancement programme aims to grow South Africa’s fish farming industry and create jobs.

Another incentive is the black business supplier development programme, which is a cost-sharing grant offered to small black-owned enterprises to assist them to improve their competitiveness and sustainability. The trade export and investment programme includes numerous film and television incentives, and are offered by the Government to promote the film production and post-production industry.
