Conflicting social media posts by Londoloza Protection Group and Douglasdale Community Policing Forum has since gone viral this week.
An unidentified resident alerted security groups on social media on 12 March regarding an incident that occurred at 12.30pm the previous day, on the corner of Cedar and Uranium roads.
According to the social media posts, the suspect operates by bumping into women motorists and when they get out of their cars to check, the suspect apologises and walks the motorist back to their vehicle. He then allegedly takes the keys from the motorist’s ignition and proceeds to draw a firearm. He demands that the motorist drives to a designated area where more suspects are waiting.
According to the Douglasdale Community Policing Forum’s Crime Intelligence, a plan is being executed to catch these suspects.
Residents are urged to look out for the vehicle with number plate TNK 070 GP. They can contact Douglasdale Operations Room immediately on 011 699 1333.
