12 Miss SA finalists unveiled

JOBURG - As the Miss South Africa 2015 pageant draws near, the top 12 finalists have been unveiled by Sun International.

The finalists will all compete for the coveted Miss SA title, which is set to take place in March at Sun City.

The 12 finalists Busi Mahlangu, Chanelle Sardinha, Danelle de Wet, Gugulethu Banda, Kim Wentzel, Liesl Laurie, Nicole Lee Lamberts, Ntsiki Mkhize, Refilwe Mthimunye, Shanè Naidoo, Sihle Makhanya and Taryn Morris.

Claudia Henkel, public relations manager for Sun International, expressed faith in the selected finalists and their ability to each do well in the finals.

“The judges had a difficult task choosing the Top 12 from the 24 semi-finalists, but I am confident that the winner will prove to be a powerful ambassador for the Miss South Africa brand,” she said.

Suzette van der Merwe, executive: commercial communications for Cell C, said, “It was extremely hard choosing [only]10 finalists, to the extent that the panel of judges unanimously agreed to change the 10 to a Top 12 as there were strong contestants.”

The new Miss South Africa for this year will be crowned on March 29, with the event set to be broadcast live.
