Yebo to petrol price decrease

FOURWAYS - Fourways Review spoke to some residents about the recent decrease in the petrol price and they are ecstatic.

The petrol price decreased to R11.20 per litre for inland 95 octane as of the 7 January.

Resident Elsabe Klingbiel said, “This is a great thing. January is a tough month for all of us financially and this helps us get through the month.”

Fellow resident and performing artist Hlubi Kwebulana expressed the same thoughts as filling up his sports car previously used to cost him almost R1 000.

However, one motorist, Selemo Melato pointed out that despite the decrease in fuel costs, other amenities such as food prices did not decrease. “The high inflation rate in this country is killing us,” said Melato. “Yes, the cost of fuel has come down but there are other costs that need to be taken into consideration.”

Cab driver Mana Maloka said he uses almost one tank of petrol a day. “I would like the petrol to decrease even further,” he said. “This will help my business and my family.”
