Councillor tells residents what to look forward to next year

FOURWAYS - In a message to the greater Fourways community, Ward 94 councillor John Mendelson reflects on the past year and what residents can look forward to in 2015.

According to Mendelson, the greater part of this year has been focused on setting up infrastructure to ensure the successful implantation of the City Improvement District.

A project that derives from a closely-linked initiative that saw parts of Cape Town undergo a similar rejuvenation in recent years. Mendelson said the undertaking is the largest of its kind, with Fourways being the fastest-developing hub in the northern Johannesburg region with more funds poured into the project to ensure its success.

Menedelson said, “This is a huge and exciting project will not just benefit residents of Ward 94, but the greater community all the way up to Steyn City.”

Bylaws regulating the implantation of this project will see the greater Fourways community benefit from this undertaking through a facelift of the area. Parks, streets and other public spaces will be improved ensuring that the community can profit from these collaborative efforts with the city and private enterprises that subsidise these projects.

“One thing I would like to see is the City Improvement District (realised),” said Mendelson. He would also like to see the community embrace the public participation channels that will be propelled once the project is off the ground. Mendelson said this is a huge undertaking that saw him focus the greater bulk of this year to usher in the success of this project into the new year.

Mendelson wishes all Fourways residents a happy new year and he is very excited to see this project come into fruition.
