Know when planned outages may hit your suburb

JOBURG - Several suburbs will be hit by water and power outages due to municipal entities’ planned interruptions scheduled for maintenance.

Here are list of outages in some of the northern suburbs scheduled for the remainder of November and early December.

On 27 November, water interruptions will be expected in Erand and Halfway Gardens from 9am to 4.30pm. Fifth Road, Harry Galaun (From New Road to Seventh), Segal, Moore, First, Forbes, Third, Seventh, Flamego, Firskraal and Vermak roads would be affected.

On 3 December, water in Clovely Street in Greenside would be disrupted from 8am to 3pm.

On 8, 9, 10 and 11 December, parts of Parkview would be without water.

Kinross Road (between Tyrone Street and Dundalk) and Tyrone Avenue (between Kinross and Selkirk Road) would be affected on 8 December. from 8am to 3pm.

On 9 December, West Meath Road (between Tyrone Street and Dundalk) and Tyrone Avenue (between Lurgan and West Meath Road) would be affected from 8am to 3pm.

On 10 December, Kerry Road (between Tyrone Street and Dundalk) and Tyrone Avenue (between Galway and Kerry Road) would be affected from 8am to 3pm.

On 11 December, Dundalk Avenue (between Kerry and Kilkenny roads) would be affected from 8am to 3pm.

According to the municipal water and sanitation utility, all the interruptions would be undertaken to perform infrastructural upgrades.

A list of planned outages was available on the utility’s website (www.johannesburgwater.co.za).

Meanwhile, according to City Power, planned power interruptions were scheduled for 29 November, from 10pm to 6pm. The affected areas included Braampark, Braamfontein and Parktown.

City Power urged customers to treat their electricity supply points as live at all times as the supply may be restored at any time.
