St Peter’s goes with the water polo flow

SUNNINGHILL - St Peter's College is leading the way in developing water polo as a popular and prestigious school sport.

According to St Peter’s star water polo player Chesnay Havinga, at the beginning of each water polo season, water polo teams and coaches have long conversations about goals for the season. The team and coaches talk about skills development and winning, but also about how to develop and participate in school tournaments.

A number of St Peter’s players participated in trials during September and 19 were selected to represent Central Gauteng Schools Water Polo at the upcoming 40th Annual Old Mutual Wealth National Schools Water Polo Tournament. Johannesburg is the host city for the tournament this year, which takes place from 12 to 16 December. Not only will St Peter’s participate in the tournament, but the school will also host the events at their Wahoo Aquatic Centre and at St Peter’s Girls Preparatory School.
