Woman runs from willy-nilly exposure

PAULSHOF - A domestic worker got more than she bargained for during an outing to a Paulshof park after a man exposed himself to her.

The Paulshof Security Initiative posted a warning message from a resident on their Facebook page about the domestic worker who took her daughter to the park on 16 October.

According to the resident, her domestic worker was sitting in the swing area when a man on a black and red bike with a box on the back, similar to a delivery bike, stopped in the park. The domestic worker described the man as being tall and white with short blond hair, and said he looked to be about 40 years old.

The resident said the man alighted from his bike and started to masturbate in front of her domestic worker who ran away in shock.

Warrant officer Balan Muthan, head of communications for the Douglasdale police, said the incident was classified as public indecency. He said residents who are exposed to this type of behaviour can report it to their nearest police station where a case will be opened and investigated.

Muthan said the punishment for public indecency depended on the court, however a fine was the most likely punishment.
