Armed robbery in Glenferness church

GLENFERNESS - On 28 September a church group became victims of an armed robbery in their place of worship.

According to Constable Matome Tlamela, head of communications for the Midrand police, the church group met at 1.25pm at a church in Glenferness.

During the church group’s meeting, three suspects entered the church, two of them wielding firearms and one armed with a knife. The men then ordered the group to remain seated.

The suspects stole R25 000 from the church’s premises, two Samsung Galaxy cellphones and a wallet containing R100, a drivers licence and bank cards.

Police do not know the identity of the suspects but anyone with information on the suspects or about the incident should contact Midrand police or SMS an anonymous tip-off to Crimeline.
