Two suspects arrested in Lonehill

LONEHILL - Lonehill Residents Association said two suspects were arrested in Lonehill East at 1.30am on 22 August.

The two suspects allegedly cut a fence to a property which sounded the alarm.

The residents’ association said Fidelity Security Services responded to the alarm and saw the two suspects fleeing the scene. They said the security officers apprehended the two men.

They said Sandton police were called and the two suspects were arrested.

Sandton police spokesperson Captain Kym Cloete said she was aware of the incident and that Fidelity officers apprehended the suspects but she was awaiting the docket before issuing more information.

The residents’ association believed the men were trying to break into a complex as they said the men had tools to possibly cut an electric fence and break into houses.

The residents’ association said, “Congratulations to all the officers involved. Proof that teamwork pays off!”
