Restaurant owner slain in Olivedale

OLIVEDALE - On 26 July a restaurant manager was brutally killed during an armed robbery in Olivedale.

According to Emer-G-Med who responded to the scene, at just before 9pm the manager locked up his restaurant, the Wok Inn, in Olivedale Corner shopping centre, when six armed men approached him, forcing him and his mother into the takeaway next door. The suspects shot the manager at close range, in the chest and the abdomen, then fled the scene.

A staff member from the takeaway was pistol-whipped on the head while two other staff members were assaulted.
