Mrs SA finalist meets her match

FOURWAYS - Mrs South Africa 2014 hopeful Mirell Ventura met her match when she met her husband, ex-Mr South Africa and well-known Fourways businessman, Zino Ventura.

Mirell (26) was born in Bloemfontein and grew up in a big family with three brothers and an identical twin sister. When Mirell was just 17 years old she had a chance encounter in Camps Bay with the man who would end up being her husband. Zino was with a friend on Camps Bay beach when he met Mirell’s twin sister, Maxzell, who is the more extroverted twin.

Later that night Mirell and her sister went out in Cape Town and by pure chance, Zino walked into the same restaurant. “That was truly fate,” Mirell said. “If he hadn’t walked into that exact same restaurant that night we would have never met.”

Mirell said that Zino and her had their very first date at Verdicchio restaurant in Montecasino and return to the eatery every year for their anniversary. “Our marriage genuinely becomes stronger with time,” Mirell said. “It is a blessing that I met my soul mate with whom I get to share everything in my life with at a young age, how lucky am I?”

Zino won Mr South Africa in 2008. Before winning the competition he ran a successful property company but since the competition he created and produced his own popular men’s lifestyle TV show called Cigare, which aired on SABC 3 from 2009 to 2010. Mirell decided to enter Mrs South Africa 2014 because her husband had won Mr South Africa and she saw first-hand what a life-changing journey it was for him. Mirell is passionate about the Mrs South Africa brand. “I would honestly encourage all married women to enter this prestigious journey,” she said. “It’s genuinely not a beauty pageant. Mrs South Africa focuses on wives and mothers who are real women. It’s a journey of self-discovery and discovering your own individuality.”
