Christmas cheer in Paulshof

PAULSHOF - Paulshof residents celebrated festive cheer at Friends of Rietfontein's Christmas in July at Rietfontein Nature Reserve.

There was a large turnout of residents who got into the spirit of things by dressing up in red and dressing their tables with red decorations, crockery and cutlery. One table went so far as to serve only red food.

DJ PJ and the Beaulieu Preparatory choir serenaded the picnickers who went all-out with their three course meals, serving up traditional Christmas fare as well as curries, braais and Russian borscht.

There was also an opportunity to give to a good cause as Goshem City of Refuge, a shelter for women and children, sold bags made out of recycled newspaper by their residents. Christmas in July ended with a prize giving for best dressed man, woman, couple, table and child.

However residents were in no rush to leave and decided to spend the rest of the day dining, socialising and taking in the picturesque surroundings of the Rietfontein Nature Reserve.
