FourPaws rescues dogs in need

FOURWAYS - On a recent visit to a township in Brits, inspectors from FourPaws animal shelter found two sick and neglected dogs.

The animal shelter, which is situated on William Nicol Drive just before Diepsloot, conducts regular inspections in disadvantaged areas where they offer veterinary support, or in extreme cases confiscate animals.

In the township the inspectors found a severely neglected puppy who was suffering from very bad mange all over her body. Sacha Fraser of the shelter said that due to the severity of her mange her skin actually started cracking and bleeding.

In the same township inspectors also came across a neglected and emaciated greyhound.

Fraser said that both the dogs have been taken to the shelter’s vet at the Paulshof Animal Clinic where they are now undergoing treatment. As soon as they have recovered both dogs will desperately need homes. Greyhound Rescue is housing the greyhound until a home has been found for him while the puppy is being housed at FourPaws.

For adoption inquiries contact Sacha Fraser.
