Layla’s special day out

MONTECASINO - Ependymoma patient, Layla O'Neill (5) of Lonehill had a very special day out courtesy of Montecasino.

Last year, Layla was diagnosed with ependymoma, a form of childhood cancer, and since then has undergone radiation and numerous operations. But sadly, doctors have now told her family that nothing more can be done for her.

Layla’s mother, Sharyn O’Neill explained that the family will never give up hope for her survival, but they try their best to fill Layla’s days with fun and exciting things so that she can experience as much as possible with the limited time she has left.

Montecasino sponsored a night’s stay at the Sunsquare hotel for Layla and two family members, as well as tickets to The Sound of Music.

Sharyn said that the musical was especially exciting for Layla because she loves seeing other children and loves to dance and sing.

The O’Neill family had a fantastic and very special day at Montecasino with Layla, and are very grateful to the entertainment complex for their support.
