Support the Winter Blanket Drive
FOURWAYS - The Winter Blanket Drive is a charity that raises money annually for animal shelters throughout South Africa.
The organisation has already touched the lives of many animals through the R150 000 they raised in 2013. This grand sum was used to purchase 2 575 blankets, 1 042 dog jerseys, and a generous amount of food to help the animals make it through the winter.
The drive welcomes any donations big or small, and they can be in three forms: monetary donations through Nedbank, buying and collecting blankets through personal blanket drives within a company or school, and spreading the word to friends and family.
Melissa Riback, from the Winter Blanket Drive reassures donors all the money raised is sent to shelters, and the matter of the logistics is taken care of personally by the charity leaders.
She also stated that they receive no government funding which makes public donations even more important for the welfare and general comfort of the animals during the winter.
