‘Monte murder’ suspect pleads guilty

FOURWAYS - The two accused in the 'Monte murder' case appeared in the Randburg Magistrate's Court on 26 March with one suspect pleading guilty.

EWN reported that the first accused, Marushka Robinson (24) pleaded guilty. She confessed to the murder of Dustan Blom, the 35-year-old male who’s body was found decomposing in his car boot in Montecasino in September last year. The state also presented evidence that Blom was murdered in his home and his body was driven to Montecasino afterwards.

Robinson was arrested on 25 September 2013. She and another suspect, Jean-Pierre Malan (32) allegedly strangled Blom, stuffed Blom’s corpse in the boot of his Nissan Qashqai and went on a scamming spree around the casino. They withdrew thousands on Blom’s bank cards before leaving Montecasino. According to police, they were both captured by security cameras entering the building.
