Valentine’s Day, schmellentine’s day. February 14th is around the corner, but if you’re single there’s no need to feel alone.
Butlers in the Buff is ready to party on Valentine’s Day, and single ladies of Johannesburg are in for a sweet treat.
Near-naked men, wearing nothing but aprons, collars, cuffs and bow ties will be roaming the streets of Fourways with chocolates – and six pack abs.
This will be their attempt to make single ladies forget about silly heartaches and focus on all the bonuses of being free.
The director for Africa’s first Butlers in the Buff Kobus du Toit said the business in 2012 in the Johannesburg and Pretoria are.
“Since then we have expanded to Cape Town and Durban and our guys will soon be available in Port Elizabeth and East London.”
The butlers also don’t discriminate, and they are available for same sex events.
“The majority of the gay events we’ve done so far was birthday parties in Cape Town, the guys definitely go down a treat at gay events.”
Butlers also wear custom outfits to match the theme of parties, and are known to sometimes do the washing after a catered affair.
Du Toit knows the ins and outs of the business, he used to be a Butler in Britian before bringing the scantly clad fun to South African shores.
“After about 9 years living in England I started looking out for an opportunity to build a business back home. It was around the same time when I started working
for Butlers in the Buff and that’s how I spotted my opportunity. I knew straight away that this will work well in South Africa, so I approached founder and Managing Director, Jason Didcott with my proposal.”
But Butlers in the Buff is all about giving, so they compiled a list of ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day, without a partner:
- Arrange after-work drinks with your girlfriends.
- Make a list of all the fabulous things that you love about your independence.
- Send a flower or special message to your closest girlfriends because making them smile will make you smile.
- Plan a girls’ weekend away.
