A man (33) was arrested in Diepsloot on Friday night after he allegedly stabbed a 29-year-old man multiple times. The victim died shortly after the incident. It is alleged that the suspect claimed his ‘girlfriend’ was cheating on him with the victim.
“It is not clear why the suspect went to the deceased’s place [of residence] and attacked him, as reports suggest that his relationship with the said woman ended a while ago,” said Warrant Officer Daniel Mavimbela, spokesperson for Diepsloot police.
The victim and the woman are reported to have been in a relationship for about a year and have a child together.
The suspect has been charged with murder, and will appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court this week.
