Driving on Leslie Avenue East heading toward Douglas Drive motorists, joggers and those taking a leisurely stroll might be enthralled or annoyed by a ‘gypsy camp’ on the side of the road.
City Power is currently setting up a holding camp for workers next to the road as they dig trenches to lay ground cables for streetlights on the road.
The camp includes containers and portaloos and some construction vehicles.
Ward 115 councillor Chris Santana said he was warned that this might happen and that residents needed to gird their loins, as City Power was expected to be there a few weeks at most.
The electricity provider will also be fixing streetlights at a few nearby locations during their time next to Leslie Avenue West.
