Plane skids off runway at Lanseria
LANSERIA - Emergency Management Services raced to the rescue when a light aircraft skidded of the runway.
Fourways Review first got wind of an accident at Lanseria International Airport this afternoon, after being notified by a paramedic.
Twitter user Stan Bezuidenhout (@StanfromIBF) tweeted, “Light Aircraft ran off the runway at Lanseria Airport. Emergency services in attendance. No further info. Tweet updates/pics please,” minutes after 5pm.
The third confirmation came from HALO Aviation. They confirmed there was two occupants on-board when a light twin aircraft took a tumble.
Only minor injuries were reported. It is presumed the accident happened during take-off.
Airport management have been contacted for more information on the accident.
