Vets making a difference

DOUGLASDALE - Douglasdale resident Moritz Huber is involved with a unique charity organisation called Isuzu Vet Books for Africa.

The organisation comprises eight veterinary students from Onderstepoort, the veterinary faculty of The University of Pretoria.

The goal of the organisation is to promote and uplift the veterinary profession throughout Southern Africa.

At the end of 2014, the eight students will travel through Eastern and Central Africa in two Isuzu bakkies, visiting veterinary faculties on the way in order to supply them with veterinary books and much-needed equipment.

The organisation also plans to visit a number of relevant charities such as the Jane Goodall Institute and lend their hands where needed.

While Vet Books for Africa has been able to secure some loyal sponsors, any form of help is welcomed by the students.

For more information on how to get involved with the organisation visit their website or contact Moritz Huber.
