Another fire at Lifestyle Centre

BROADACRES - Shopping centre plaqued with a second fire.

After 7pm on 6 November, another fire broke out at Broadacres Lifestyle Centre.

This is the second fire to erupt at the shopping mecca in a six-month window.

The latest blaze happened at the opposite end of the centre, seemingly on top of the Woolworths Food store.

According to Fourways Review’s BlackBerry group members – the fire was doused after 8pm by Lonehill firefighters.

Chantelle Koeks, one of the group members said the flames of the small fires subsided before she could take pictures.

According to her, there was mostly smoke for a while.

A myriad of other group users mentioned that the water outage in the area, combined with the fire marks Fourways as a danger zone.

“We’re living in a place with zero service delivery where things burst into flames,” one bitter group member said.

There is no definitive statements on how the fire started yet, but with the contained blaze under control, some answers should be brought to the fore soon.
