Police soccer team gets a new look

DOUGLASDALE - The Douglasdale police soccer team players have big smiles and a new look, thanks to the generosity of Richard Dickson of Skye Distribution.

Warrant Officer Balan Muthan, communications officer at the station, said Dickson had donated 14 full kits, with the Douglasdale team colours of red and white. “We wanted a colour that would stand out; most of the other stations choose the traditional blue, so we thought we would go with red.”

Muthan said the team had been playing soccer for as long as the station had been around. “The soccer team was formed in 1999 when the Douglasdale Police Station was opened.”

The team plays every Thursday at Africa United in Dainfern. They also occasionally play at Bridge Town.

“The team is so happy with their new kit, and it is all thanks to Dickson, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts,” said Muthan.
