Bakkies filled with kindness

LONEHILL - After the annual Lonehill fun run, the Lonehill Residents Association was able to collect two bakkie loads of clothes.

Twenty bags of food were also collected during the race.

The food and the clothing was delivered to the Lonehill Village Church, who distributed the donations to various organisations in Diepsloot, as well as to Mozambique in a flood relief effort.

The residents association, along with the Cupcake Boutique in the Lonehill Mall, also baked cakes as their contribution to 67 minutes for Mandela. These were donated to the Baby House, who held a cake sale at the Lonehill Mall. The sale was to raise funds for their safe house, according to Shelley Miller, spokesperson for the association.

“We have the most amazing residents in Lonehill, who are so generous with their time and aid for our charity initiatives,” she said.
