A remedy for domestic violence

DOUGLASDALE - Warrant Officer Balan Muthan of the Douglasdale Police Station offers the following advice regarding domestic abuse:

Domestic violence is a serious social crime.

There are a high number of incidents in our community and the most vulnerable members of our society are the victims. It takes many forms of abuse and can be committed in a wide range of relationships.

There are a number of remedies available to victims of domestic violence for men and women. The government is committed to the elimination of this crime which happens behind closed doors.

Domestic violence can take many forms such as verbal and physical abuse, emotional and economic abuse, intimidation, harassment and sustaining physical damage to property.

If you feel that you are being abused, contact your nearest police station and get the help you need to stop the perpetrator.
