Hundreds of trees for Diepsloot

DIEPSLOOT - Indigenous saplings and equipment such as bakkies, shovels and hosepipes were essential items for the Steyn City project management team.

They they planted trees at Diepsloot’s three secondary schools and one primary school, in honour of Nelson Mandela’s 67 minutes campaign.

Paradise Bend Primary School, Diepsloot Secondary School, Diepsloot Combined School and Rabasatho Combined School were the four schools earmarked to each receive 67 new saplings from a selection of three indigenous trees: white stinkwood, wild olive, and combretums – one of the tree species that will feature prominently at Steyn City.

Howard Rawlings of Steyn City Properties, together with Gary Waage, managing director of Steyn City’s golf course design team, Golf Data, rolled up their sleeves to dig holes and plant saplings with school pupils and admin staff, while giving them a short overview of planting and tree maintenance.
