Sexwale and Pule axed from cabinet

JOBURG - Human Settlements Minister Tokyo Sexwale and Communications Minister Dina Pule have been axed from the Cabinet.

President Jacob Zuma reshuffled his Cabinet for the fourth time on 9 July.

Sexwale is replaced by ANC MP Connie September and Pule by former deputy minister of co-operative governance and traditional affairs Yunus Carrim.

Other changes include:

Minister of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs: Lechesa Tsenoli, former deputy minister for rural development and land reform, to replace Richard Baloyi;

Minister of Energy: Ben Martins, former minister of transport, to replace Dipuo Peters;
Minister of Transport: Peters to replace Martins;

Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development: John Jeffery, ANC MP, to replace Andries Nel;

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology: Michael Masutha, ANC MP, to fill vacancy;

Deputy Minister of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs: Nel, to replace Carrim;

Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Land Reform: Pamela Tshwete, ANC MP, to replace Tsenoli.
