First K60 meeting a no-show

PAULSHOF - The Ward 93 meeting to discuss the building of the K60 road was cancelled and re-scheduled after a poor attendance.

The meeting was held at Rivonia Recreation Club on 16 March. Only about 20 people of the estimated 50 000 residents in Ward 93 attended.

The meeting was scheduled to introduce the Ward 93 committee and discuss the extension of the K60 road from Rivonia Road in Sunninghill through Paulshof to Main Road.

Ward 93 councillor Annette Deppe attributed the lack of attendance due to the city council not advertising the meeting.

Most people at the meeting said they were concerned about the road and wanted more information.

The Environmental Impact Assessment has been conducted and three public meetings will take place in order to inform the public and to listen to concerns and suggestions.

Deppe urged the public to register as interested and concerned parties and email their suggestions to the project’s consultants Rock Environmental Consultants.

The meeting will be re-scheduled at a later date.
