K60 road extension meeting

PAULSHOF - The first public meeting on the extension of the K60 road will be held on 16 March at Rivonia Recreation Club at 10am.

The new portion of the road will be 62m wide, and will link the K60 in Sunninghill, which stops at Rivonia Road, to Main Road.

Johannesburg City Council will introduce Ward 93 councillor Annette Deppe and her ward committee, and explain the proposed road plans. Community members will then get the opportunity to air their views.

The Environmental Impact Assessment of the proposed road work has been conducted, and will be followed by three public meetings. Affected parties have to register in advance to have a say.

The community has mixed opinions regarding the road. Some Paulshof residents said they would oppose construction of the road extension close to their properties.

Sunninghill resident Margaret Edwards said expansion of the road would help traffic on Witkoppen Road.

Deppe said she would listen to the opinions of interested and affected parties before commenting.
