Cyclists make their way to Kyalami to win the Guinness World Record

KYALAMI – Here are a few of the photos taken at the Back to Rhythm event, organised by the Philips Foundation and hosted at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit on 5 April

The Back to Rhythm educational campaign was full of heart on 5 April when a special event was held at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.

The campaign, organised by the Philips Foundation in partnership with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of South Africa, is aimed at fighting the scourge of cardiovascular disease which affects millions of South Africans each year. Besides encouraging South Africans across their country to lead a health-conscious lifestyle, Back to Rhythm also supported three cyclists as they travelled from Cape Town to Johannesburg over a six-day journey.

The cyclists planned their route as part of the campaign’s effort to also win the Guinness World Record for creating the world’s largest GPS drawing (digital ECG heartbeat) on bicycle by an individual, to shine a spotlight on heart health.
