Join the Greater Kyalami Conservancy (Gekco) and Lonehill’s Spruit Day initiative

Gekco chair shared that the Spruit Day initiative was started in 2014 and grew last year to 28 residents associations and Special Interest Groups. She said a total of 851 volunteers who gathered at 16 different meeting points along the Spruit (Montgomery Spruit, Braamfontein Spruit, Sandspruit, Klein Jukskei and Jukskei rivers) collectively gathered 2 063 bags of litter, removed alien vegetation, planted 178 trees (both on Spruit Day and thereafter), installed 150 bollards and painted a jungle gym.

Residents are asked to bring gloves and a hat. Bags will be provided. All are welcome to join in.

When: 15 September from 9am to 12pm

Where: Meet at either Gracepoint Church, 125 Duncan Road in Glenferness Agricultural Holdings or Crawford Prep School on Scaeles road in Lonehill.
