Cats plight, a hot topic

FOURWAYS - Lynda Trotter says feral cats in Fourways should be looked after.

Thank you for highlighting the plight of defenceless cats . I feel very strongly that it is the responsibility of the shop owners and landlords to not only allow these poor creatures to live in peace and harmony with them, but also to sterilise and feed them.

When the owner of an upmarket furniture shop opened the store where a nursery with feral cats used to be, she was not interested in having the cats.

As a result I decided to boycott her store and if anyone has spoken about her shop, I have told them this story that she didn’t want them there as they would sit on chairs.

I make a point of supporting those businesses that take responsibility for their surroundings and those that sponsor animal

organisations.

I once wrote about Mark White Nissan at The Crossing, he tirelessly sits in his vehicle and traps the feral cats, takes them to

Palm Gardens Vet to be sterilised (they share the cost) and re-releases them. What a star.

Why do people find it so hard to share what they have?
