She also secured second place in the over 70 category. Males journey into line dancing began five years ago, marking a new chapter in her active lifestyle.

For many years she dedicated herself as an aerobics instructor, but eventually had to step away due to the demands of age.
Line dancing became the perfect solution, allowing her to maintain her fitness while enjoying the rhythmic joys of movement.

Males’ line dancing skills did not go unnoticed. Just two years into her dance journey, she was selected to represent her country at an international competition in Spain. An achievement that speaks volumes about her dedication and natural talent.

This recent competition featured seven different dance categories, and Males participated in all of them. “It was the best experience; I had so much fun changing into six different outfits and putting on makeup, even though it was tiring for my ‘young’ age.”

Despite the challenges that come with her age, Males thrives on the dance floor, attributing much of her success to her coach, Leon Nel. “He always encourages us to do better. His support means the world to me.”

Her routine includes exercising three times a week, which she ranks as her favorite time of the week. It is through these sessions that she not only keeps fit but also continues to hone her line dancing skills.

Males embodies the spirit of resilience and positivity, as she encourages everyone to chase their dreams. “Always fight for what you want and don’t forget practice makes perfect, and there is no such thing as ‘too old’, it is never too late to start.”
