Novaneers honour their teachers in their own words this World Teacher’s Day

Learners from Nova Pioneers Paulshof campus have honoured their dedicated educators by writing messages of gratitude to their teachers.

Teachers are more than just their professional roles; they’re mentors, role models, and change-makers. Through their tireless efforts, they are able to produce critical thinkers, creative problem-solvers, and compassionate leaders.

To mark World Teacher’s Day on October 4, Nova Pioneer’s Paulshof campus have turned the spotlight on its most valuable assets: Its teachers.

The students, who benefit daily from their educators’ expertise, passion, and care, have crafted heartfelt tributes to express their admiration and appreciation as they celebrate their special day.

Pule Letshweni, the school’s marketing officer, said through handwritten notes, drawings, and heartfelt words, learners from across the grades have shared what makes their teachers truly special – from creating engaging lessons to offering comfort and guidance that goes beyond the classroom walls.

Layla Josline, a Grade 00 student, shared her simple but powerful appreciation. “What I love about my teachers is that they teach stuff.”

Malachi Nthite, who is in Grade 3, emphasised the support he receives in all aspects of his education.

“My teachers help me when I don’t understand. My PE teachers help me when I am hurt. My second language teacher helps me when I don’t know how to pronounce something.”

Letshweni said, “these touching sentiments highlight the commitment of Nova Pioneer teachers to fostering a nurturing, respectful, and supportive learning environment. As part of the school’s celebration, students and staff will commemorate World Teacher’s Day with various activities that honour the critical role educators play in shaping the next generation.

“The school continues to champion a student-centred approach, nurturing both academic and personal growth, and the heartfelt words from students are a testament to the lasting impact their teachers have.”
