A weekend of speed and spirit: Red Bull Showrun and SPAR Women’s Challenge steal the spotlight

Johannesburg buzzed with excitement this weekend as Sandton hosted motorsport thrills and the vibrant SPAR Women’s Challenge brought runners together

The streets of Sandton were alive on Sunday as the Red Bull Showrun dazzled attendees, featuring the dynamic David Coulthard piloting a Red Bull Racing F1 car in Johannesburg’s financial district. The high-octane action drew in motorsport enthusiasts from far and wide.

Simultaneously, the SPAR Women’s Challenge concluded with local runner Glenrose Xaba securing first place in a stellar 00:32:48 minutes, celebrated in a lively atmosphere with around 10 000 spirited participants dressed in colourful attire.

Celebrations continued in Rosebank with the St John’s College Tutu Walk, honouring the contributions of Archbishop Desmond Tutu, adding a meaningful touch to this vibrant weekend.
