Slipper Day is not just a fundraising campaign, it acts as a beacon of hope for countless children across the country. The funds raised through this initiative ensures that the Reach For A Dream Foundation can continue its mission of bringing comfort and joy to young dreamers, fulfilling their aspirations, and providing moments of happiness during some of their most challenging times.

Shivan Sahadeo, Crawford International Fourways’ principal, also expressed gratitude. “We were honored as the winning school in the Reach For A Dream fundraiser, and we have allocated funds to support some projects that our grade 7s have been working on during their Primary Years Programme Exhibition (PYPX).

“Some of the initiatives we will be donating to are Wood Rock Animal Shelter: providing essential supplies to animals in need, Girl Empowerment: donating sanitary pads to underprivileged girls, some underprivileged preschools, as well as establishing a sustainable garden, and donating stationery.

“I am incredibly proud of our students’ dedication to giving back. These projects embody our school’s values of kindness, empathy, and social responsibility.”

Laurance Lofzoff, the managing director of Hush Puppies, said, “we are always trying to do community outreach programs; this is an amazing collaboration that aligns with our primary goal. For us, this is all about reaching and helping communities; we believe, if you can do it for one person, then imagine. This has been an honor to be part of this amazing organization and this year’s Slipper Day.”

Looking ahead, Sotirianakos announced that Slipper Day 2025 is scheduled for May 30. Schools, businesses, and individuals nationwide can mark their calendars and participate in making the next Slipper Day an even greater success.

“Together, we have the power to provide hope, strength, and smiles to children who need them most. Let’s continue to dream big, inspire change, and make a lasting difference in the lives of these brave young fighters.”
