Kirth Mahomed crowned the She Believes Cup winner
To celebrate women in pool, Beke le Bele hosted Gauteng women to compete for queen of the table in the She Believes Cup tournament.
Kirth Mahomed was crowned the 2024 She Believes Cup champion after a thrilling showdown with Charlie Naransamy, finishing with a score of 3–2.
The She Believes Cup, hosted by Beke le Beke, celebrated Women’s Day through a singles challenge that brought together talented women from across Gauteng to compete in an electrifying atmosphere at the Billiard Café Pool Club in Rivonia.

The competition was organized by Prince Morake in collaboration with Cuesport Africa Media (CAM), and was broadcast live on Vision View TV and across Billiard Café’s social media channels, allowing pool enthusiasts everywhere to witness the excitement.
Morake explained the purpose of the tournament. “It’s an excellent opportunity for women to showcase their skills, inspire others, and promote female participation in the sport.” The event went beyond the game itself, creating a platform for community building and the celebration of talent and inclusivity.
The road to the finals was no easy feat. In the semifinals, Naransamy faced Petunia Moerane in a tense bout that left spectators on the edge of their seats. After a fiercely fought match, Naransamy won with a score of 3–2, advancing to the finals. In the other semifinal, Mahomed went head-to-head against Nqobile Dlamini. Demonstrating skill and determination, Mahomed claimed her place in the final by winning with a close score of 3–2.

The final clash between Mahomed and Naransamy was a fitting climax to a day filled with talent and passion. Both competitors played with precision and heart, but it was Mahomed who grabbed the moment, as she was crowned the queen of the table, marking a significant achievement in her sporting journey.
After the match, Mahomed expressed her joy. “Winning this cup means so much to me, not just as an achievement but as a sign that our efforts to uplift women in sports are paying off. I hope to inspire others to come forward and join us in this journey.”
“Competing in this tournament has been an incredible experience; unfortunately, I lost. I was hoping for a different outcome. I am proud of Kirth; it was her time, and till it is my time I will continue clapping for others. For ladies who wish to join the sport I highly recommend it. It’s a good sport,” said Naransamy.
The She Believes Cup was not just a tournament, it was a celebration of women’s empowerment in sports. The atmosphere buzzed with energy as supporters cheered for their favorite players, embodying the spirit of camaraderie and encouragement.
