EFC presents battle for supremacy

The biggest night in African combat sports features two title fights. One night of non-stop action on July 11.

A double-division champion in the EFC, Kabesa is widely regarded as one of the greatest wrestlers in African MMA, having successfully defended his featherweight title last year, and having added the lightweight title to his collection with a stunning first-round submission.

Mulenga, known as the ‘King Cobra’, has made a name for himself with his devastating striking, finishing all of his opponents in the first round. His recent performances have sent shockwaves through the lightweight division, earning him a title shot against Kabesa. This clash promises to be an explosive encounter between two of the continent’s top lightweights.

The co-main event is a heavyweight showdown for the vacant title between French striker Anthony Morel and British powerhouse Joffie Houlton. Morel has been on a tear since entering the hexagon last year, finishing his opponents with ease; while Houlton has a reputation for sending opponents to sleep with his devastating elbows. This fight promises to be a toe-to-toe battle between two formidable strikers.

”In these high-stakes title fights, 26 fighters from across Africa will converge on Johannesburg to compete in EFC’s biggest event yet. Other bouts include Edson Machavane from Mozambique facing Salahuddin Plaatjies from South Africa, as well as Billy Nyembo from South Africa taking on Kaleka Kabanda from the Congo. Get ready for a night of heart-pumping action in the City of Gold,” said EFC media.
